Serving Children Worldwide
“Serving Children Worldwide” is the motto of the Kiwanis Club and its members internationally.

Kiwanis celebrate children and the voyage of discovery that the international organization provides them through its members leadership.

FLOAT BUILDER: Phoenix Decorating Co.
FLOAT DESCRIPTION: Height: 17 ft. Width: 18 ft. Length: 35 ft.

Kiwanis International presents “Serving Children Worldwide” with a charming storybook ship depicting a celebration of travelers across the ocean. The riders are dressed in costumes native to various countries where children are served by Kiwanis International. The ship is under the command of a gigantic bunny as it takes eager youngsters on a voyage of adventure and discovery. The colorful vessel rides acrest floral waves as its youthful crew, all members of Kiwanis related groups, while a mouse of a first mate, armed with his trusty map, provides navigation.

FLOWERING: The bunny at the prow of the float is created with white chrysanthemums, his hat features erianthus and blue statice. The sails are decorated with fine ground orange lentil and yellow strawflower, with patches of parsley flake and statice attached with onion seed stitches. The ship’s hull is made up of onion see, light and dark flax seed and gold clover. The lantern features blue statice glass and a frame of yellow statice. The ropes are created wrapped sisal and the rope ladder is light tan flax seed. The mouse is sesame and flax with a nose of pink carnation petals. He’s wearing a shirt of onion seed and rice powder, and is holding a statice and red bean map. The waves are created with gypsophila and iris, white roses, dendrobium orchids and gerbera with sprays of coco sticks.

One Day, One Heart, One Gift

The “One Day” for 2008 will be April 5th. The “One Heart” is your club working together to collect “One Gift”.

On April 5th we will all come together and present that the gift to the organization of your choice, and then we will have a party to celebrate your passion.

I will be at the Habitat site this Saturday, April 5, between the hours of 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm.  Please bring your collected items to me there. They will be weighed, measured and I hope not found wanting. I am looking forward to thanking each one of you.

Sharing the Great Outdoors

The Kiwanis Club, through its many youth programs, annually entertains thousands of youngsters, introducing them to pleasures of the great outdoors.  The Kiwanis Club feels that entertainment comes in many forms, and that there is no greater achievement than to share with young people beautiful opportunities so that they can entertain dreams of a great personal future.
